MEN’S BASKETBALL PREVIEW

MEN’S BASKETBALL PREVIEW

The George Brown Huskies Men's Basketball team made history in the 2019-20 season. Under first-year head coach, Jason Dawkins, the team finished first in the East Division with a 17-3 record and claimed the program's first OCAA Provincial Championship since 1976, also qualifying them for the national championship. This also qualified them for the national championship. The team prepares to defend their Provincial title with some notable key players returning from that championship squad.

Coach’s Quote

Dawkins believes the team is in a great position to compete and possibly defend their title.

“With the mixture of returning players, veterans and some recruits, we like where our team is at heading into the season. With half the group being veterans, we are looking for them to lead the younger student-athletes in what it takes to be successful in the classroom and on the court,” he explained. “The culture we continue to build upon with the combination of our worth ethic will allow us to compete at a high level with our opponents every single game.”

The team heads into the season ranked No. 7 in the CCAA.
