SHAQUILLE AGARD, MATHEW DA SILVA NAMED HUSKIES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Shaquille Agard (Men's Indoor Soccer)

Shaquille Agard was named Tournament MVP as the Huskies indoor soccer team captured their second provincial title in three seasons and medalled for a fifth consecutive year on Friday at the Ontario Soccer Centre. The fifth-year Toronto native capped his incredible George Brown career by scoring the game-winning goal in a semi-final win over UTM, and following that up with the finals lone goal to secure his second provincial gold. "I told my teammates two weeks ago that, if we got here, 'I'll take you guys to the championship, just help me get there.' And we did it," said Agard.

Always among the most dangerous strikers in the province, Agard's time with the Huskies will remain etched in the program's history books.

Mathew Da Silva (Men's Indoor Soccer)

Freshman Mathew Da Silva went well above and beyond expectations in his first season with George Brown, culminating in his being named a provincial championship Tournament All-Star after a memorable five-game run last week. The 5'7" Etobicoke native said, "It means everything to be a Husky," after the provincial title, and his two-way play may well have been the deciding factor in culminating victories over UTM and Fanshawe.

The program has much to look forward to from Da Silva after such an exciting, unexpected freshman season.
