HUSKIES OFF TO PROVINCIALS

The men's indoor soccer team finished first in their pool at Regionals, punching their ticket to the Provincial Championships at the Ontario Soccer Centre on Tuesday (Feb. 25).

Match 1: George Brown 3, Lakehead 1
In their opening match, the Huskies controlled possession early against the Thunderwolves, leading to an early goal by Sebastian Lopez. They held the advantage at halftime. George Brown's offense stalled in the second half, but a key penalty kill provided a spark. Moments after serving his foul, Hakeem Bailey broke free on a breakaway to double the lead. Bailey struck again, setting up Abubakar Hussein to seal the victory.

Match 2: George Brown 6, Laurier Brantford 0
The Huskies carried their momentum into the second match, jumping out to a 3-0 lead with goals from Yonis Jama, Mark Do Coito, and Bailey. They maintained their dominance in the second half, adding three more goals from Daniel Parisotto, Tazhon Colley, and Lopez.

Match 3: George Brown 5, St. Clair 1
In their final match to secure first place in the pool, the Huskies continued their dominance. Jama opened the scoring in the first half before the offense exploded. Hussein was unstoppable, netting a hat trick, while Bailey added another goal to cap off the commanding win.
