After a heartbreaking 4-0 loss to the East division top ranked Seneca Sting in the semi-final match, the George Brown Men's Soccer team played the Fanshawe College Falcons in the consolation match at the 2022 OCAA Men's Soccer Championships in Vaughan, Ontario.

The Huskies got on the board in the second minute of play after a foul was called on Fanshawe in the penalty area, giving George Brown a penalty kick attempt.  Huskies captain, Mark Do Coito (2nd Year) stepped up and netted the first goal of the match for the Huskies. Do Coito would add another goal for George Brown in the closing minutes of the first half off a deflection to put the Huskies ahead 2-0 heading into half time.

The Falcons would have their chances to equalize, but Huskies goalkeeper Mabroor Butt (1st Year) would prove to be too skillful for Fanshawe, stopping all nine of the Falcons' shots, earning a clean sheet in the victory.

George Brown's Jason Alvarado (3rd Year) was named Player of the Match and Mark Do Coito was honoured with OCAA Championship All-Star recognition.

"I'm extremely proud of how the team bounced back from the loss to Seneca.", said head coach John Williams after the game. "We showed a ton of heart on the field and our no quit attitude is what earned us this medal."

With the men’s outdoor soccer season officially coming to an end, this marks a third medal for George Brown in the last six seasons, including a bronze medal in 2016-17 and a silver medal in 2021-22.
