HUSKIES FALL TO WOLVES

The George Brown Huskies men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (18-25, 15-25, 11-25) decision to the Algonquin Wolves on the home Saturday afternoon.

NOTABLE STATS: Fourth-year outside hitter Nathanael Masson posted a team-high seven points on seven kills, while second-year outside hitter Samuel Delgado scored five points on five kills in the loss.

The Huskies finish sixth place in the East Division with a 3-5 record.

UP NEXT: The team will play their first-round playoff match on the road on Thursday, March 10th. The opponent and time will be announced early next week. 

2022 Men's Volleyball Graduating Student-Athletes 

Before the game, the Huskies honour four graduating student-athletes and all of them made an impact on the program during their time here.

"It was very important for our graduating student-athletes to guide the younger players that we have," coach Dave Hamilton explained. "It's one thing to hear a message from the coach, but to have the quality graduating student-athletes support the message is super important, and we're forever grateful for the returning players that came back and helped jump-start this program, 


#8 Nathanael Masson
 
He joined the Huskies in 2017 as an outside hitter. The Ajax, Ont., native has been a perfect depth player that can be placed in any situation and make an impact. He has appeared in 50 career matches while averaging career-high in every category this season. His leadership and experience have been on full display this season, and he has helped the program take positive steps during his time here. He will be graduating from the Honours Bachelor of Technology program.


#11 Avery Titus
He joined the Huskies roster in the 2018-19 season. The middle blocker, who stands at 6'4, has helped disrupt opposing offences with his height and defensive instincts while also acting as an offensive weapon. The Scarborough, Ont., native has played in 38 career matches with the Huskies. He will be graduating from the Culinary Management program. 


#19 David Fanor
He joined the Huskies roster ahead of the 2021-2022 season. From day one, he was tasked to run the team's offence. He has started in all seven matches this season while leading the team with 6.88 per set. He continues to be a reason why the Huskies offence has run very well this season. He will be graduating from the Sport and Event Marketing program. 


#13 Raul Galvao
He was initially recruited for what would have been the 2020-21 season. His experience and defensive mindset were a great addition to the squad. He's played in three matches so far this season. He will be graduating from the Food and Beverage Management program.
