HUSKIES SEASON COMES TO AN END

HUSKIES SEASON COMES TO AN END

The George Brown Huskies women's volleyball season is over after dropping a 3-0 (11-25, 16-25, 20-25) decision to the Seneca Sting in the first round of the OCAA playoffs on the road Thursday night.

NOTABLE STATS: Fourth-year outside hitter Angelique Agustin put up a team-high 13 points on eight kills and five service aces while adding 12 digs. First-year libero Dahee Kim was great defensively posting a career-high 18 digs in the loss.

Despite the early playoff exit, head coach Daphne Choi believes the program continues to move in the right direction.

"This was one of the most challenging seasons I've ever coached. The pandemic really challenged us - roster changes, schedules, shortening training timelines… and that's not including the facilities issues we had at GBC. In such a difficult time it would have been easy to not participate, or not contribute," she explained. "Our athletes and staff rose to the occasion and made it our own. We continued to solidify the amazing team culture we have built - one based on support, hard work, and shared goals. I'm very proud of the athletes and staff for their resiliency, maturity, and growth over this past season. Looking forward, we have much to be excited about and we're just getting started.
