The George Brown Huskies men’s volleyball program is pleased to announce the addition of outside hitter David Kiswa for the upcoming 2022-2023 season.
“My initial reaction when committing to George Brown was pure excitement, as I was familiar with the coaches and curious about who I would become after my years at George Brown,” Kiswa explained. “I decided to commit to George Brown as my academic plan follows and of the skilled and technical coaching staff.”
Kiswa is transferring from the Seneca Sting after a year with their program. He also coaches numerous teams for the Phoenix Volleyball.
“It was essential to recruit this athlete for multiple reasons. At George Brown, we always look at the character of the athlete first. He is an exceptionally hard-working individual with great aspirations in the sport of volleyball,” head coach Sam Schachter explained. “David has an outstanding work effort and strong personal values. David has shown great potential on the court as both a player and a leader. He is an incredible athlete with very refined skills and the physical ability to impact the game both offensively and defensively.”
The outside hitter will be enrolled in the General Arts and Science program. Heading into this season, he hopes to excel in the classroom and on the court.
“My goals, academically, are to average anything above a 3.0 GPA in all of my classes. My goal on the court is to create a great bond on a team, a bond that is only filled with love, laughter and grit,” Kiswa said.
Schachter is entering his second season with the men’s volleyball program. He believes that Kiswa will play a significant role for the team come the fall.
“I expect David to excel in the OCAA. With his physical capability, volleyball IQ and work ethic, we expect him to be an ‘X’ factor and game-changing player,” Schachter said. “David has versatility and the ability to play several positions, which is a huge advantage for our team.”
