Women’s outside hitter Kaarina Niemimaa and Men’s Volleyball outside hitter Yaroslav Svidritskiy have been named the Huskies Athletes of the Week for the period ending October 20th.
Kaarina Niemimaa, Women’s Volleyball
The third-year outside hitter was a leader on the court and it showed on the stat sheet. She posted a game-high 12 points, including nine kills, two service aces, and a block, while contributing eight digs in the team’s 3-0 shutout victory over Georgian.
Yaroslav Svidritskiy, Men’s Volleyball
In his OCAA debut, Svidritskiy was the best all-around player on the court. In the season opener, he registered a match-high 22 points from 17 kills, three service aces, and two blocks, while also contributing a team-high eight digs in a five-set loss to Georgian.
