TIANA SAMUEL, YUSEPH JACKMAN NAMED HUSKIES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Tiana Samuel (Women's Volleyball)

George Brown women's volleyball made history last week by qualifying for an OCAA crossover game, and they'll have a chance to earn their first championship berth this weekend on the road. Star outside hitter Tiana Samuel led the Huskies to consecutive wins to close the regular season, assuring the Huskies a fifth-place finish in the east and their best record in years. Samuel had 16 points apiece in massive home wins over Georgian and Centennial, along with a combined 13 service aces and nine kills in the two victories. She is undoubtedly worthy of serious first-team all-star consideration come seasons end, and is among the biggest reasons for George Brown's six-win improvement this season.

The women will take on Humber on the road this Saturday with a chance to qualify for the OCAA Championship, first serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m in Rexdale.

Yuseph Jackman (Men's Volleyball)

Veteran Yuseph Jackman closed his regular season career with George Brown with a bang, finishing with 13 kills in an incredible five-set match against Georgian and following that up with a seven kill performance as the Huskies made easy work of Centennial in a sweep on seniors day. This season Jackman has stepped up into a leadership role, always a vocal, emotional piece for a team looking to qualify for a third consecutive provincial championship. Playing alongside player of the year candidate Vivek Mathimakki and John Luu, the Huskies boast a potent frontline as they head into a do-or-die matchup in Ancaster.

The men will visit Redeemer on Saturday with a spot in the OCAA Championship on the line, first serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
