GEORGE BROWN INTRAMURAL SOCCER LEAGUE PROVIDES COMPETITIVE FUN IN FALL SEMESTER

George Brown campus recreation recently wrapped up the four-week intramural indoor soccer league, with 57 students participating in a busy November of action.

With a total of six teams participating in a round-robin format culminating in November 23rd's championship, each team was battle-tested and ready to compete come the final week four showdown. Net 6 & Chill, who had gone .500 in the run-up to title day, put it all together at the right time to defeat Wakanda FC in the championship finals and take home top honours.

"This is definitely a trophy that will be going on my personal hall of fame," said Net 6 & Chill's Chris Codicheira. "I've been playing since I was a kid, and this is the first title that I have won. It was really a great experience and it was awesome to meet like-minded people."

Athletics and Recreation coordinator Tammy Nopuente says the season was a great success and looks forward to greater numbers next year. "It's a perfect opportunity to come out, make new friends and play a game that you love," she said. "We really encourage students who enjoyed their time this year to spread the word and make sure they continue to participate in our offerings this winter."

"I definitely plan on participating next year," added Codicheira. "I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience, and my teammates would say the same."

Campus Recreation has four tournaments on the docket for the winter semester, including flag football, basketball, floorball and futsal. If you are interested in registering visit your campus athletic facility or contact tnopuent@georgebrown.ca for St. James and wroberts@georgebrown.ca for Casa Loma information.
