CHRIS FIELDS, KINGSLEE D'SILVA NAMED HUSKIES ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AFTER LEADING GEORGE BROWN TO TOURNAMENT WIN

Chris Fields (Men's Basketball)

Third-year Montreal native Chris Fields led George Brown men's basketball to their second consecutive Huskies Men's Basketball Tournament win, combining for 45 points and 21 rebounds over a perfect 3-0 run. In the tournament-clinching 90-58 victory over St. Clair Fields was deadly efficient, scoring 16 points on 8-for-11 shooting to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Perhaps his best game of the weekend came against Georgian, as the point guard totaled 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, six assists and three steals. His contributions were just as important on the defensive end, as the lengthy guard showed why he is third in Ontario with 27 steals on the season, consistently getting into lanes and wreaking havoc on opposing guards.

The Huskies will open the second half Friday, January 11 playing host to Centennial at Casa Loma Campus.

Kingslee D'Silva (Men's Basketball)

Fourth-year forward Kingslee D'Silva was nothing short of dominant down low at the Huskies Men's Basketball Tournament, bullying opponents to the tune of 48 points and 31 boards in three George Brown wins. D'Silva came up one rebound short of finishing with three double-doubles, and it would not be an overstatement to say he was unstoppable down low. The 6'5" Mississauga native tallied 19 points and 12 boards in the championship win over St. Clair, and shot a combined 21-for-40. D'Silva is averaging 11.5 points on nearly 50% shooting from the field this season, and his continued strong play down low will be critical for the 9-1 Huskies head into the seasons second half.
