ZAE SELLERS, KINGSLEE D'SILVA NAMED HUSKIES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Zae Sellers (Women's Basketball)

Zae Sellers wrapped up a standout first season with the Huskies women's basketball program on Saturday, scoring 16 points on 50% shooting from the field while dishing out five assists in a season-ending loss to Niagara. Sellers quickly established herself among the easts best point guards, a pass-first guard capable of taking over in spurts offensively while providing elite defense for one of the strongest high-pressure units in the OCAA. Her 42.6% shooting from beyond the arc ranked first in the province, while ranking fifth in assists (84), twelfth in points per game (14.8) and fifteenth in assist to turnover ratio (1.4).

Despite the crossover loss, things are looking up for a program that has gone from also-ran to east division champion and a runner-up finish in the past two seasons.

Kingslee D'Silva (Men's Basketball)

Kingslee D'Silva closed a solid 2018-19 campaign on Saturday afternoon, finishing with a line of 13 points, six rebounds and three steals in an all-around effort against a tough Lambton frontline. D'Silva's switchability on defense, work on the boards and consistency finishing down low all played a crucial part in the Huskies 17-3 regular season. He closed the year with a 49.7% field goal percentage, his sixty offensive rebounds ranked him eighth in the province and his 14 blocks were good for 22nd. Alongside Adam Costanzo, George Brown had among the most athletic, versatile frontcourts in the OCAA.
