10 HUSKIES EARN OCAA HONOURS

After a historic 10-0 season and finishing first place in the East Division and tied for first in the province, 10 members of the men's soccer team took home OCAA.

For the first time in his nine-year tenure with the program, John Williams was named OCAA Coach of the Year for the first time in his career, plus he is a nominee for CCAA Coach of the Year. The Huskies ran the table with a perfect 10-0 record to win the East Division crown, scoring a league-high 62 goals while allowing the fewest against with four. Williams was also the East Division Coach of the Year.

Matthias Broomes was almost unstoppable every time he was on the pitch. The forward was named the East Division Rookie of the Year for his impressive play. He was second in the East Division, scoring 13 goals in nine matches. Broomes was also an East Division First-Team All-Star.

Third-year midfielder Mark Do Coito earned the East Division Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. The captain was a crucial cog in a Huskies unit, which allowed just four goals against in 10 matches. Do Coito was also an East Division League First-Team All-Star. It was the second straight season he made the team.

Third-year striker Yonis Jama was named a First-Team All-Star for the first time in his career. He posted career-highs with eight goals and four assists in eight matches.

First-year midfielder Julian DeSousa and third-year midfielder Jason Alvarado also earned First-Team All-Star nods. DeSousa didn't look out of place in his first season in the OCAA, posting six goals and seven assists. Alvarado, the defensive midfielder, recorded career-highs with two goals and three assists.

Gianfranco Gileppo, Darius Kerr-Cooper, Daniel McIntosh, and Adam Wood were named the East Division Second-Team All-Stars.

Second-year midfielder Gileppo took a massive step this past season. He set a career-high with six goals and four assists.

First-year midfielder McIntosh played a critical role for the Huskies, registering three goals and a team-high eight assists. Fellow first-year forward Kerr-Cooper provided the team with breakout speed and skill, recording five goals and two assists in eight matches.

Another first-year, this time in Wood, was an anchor for George Brown on the backline. He started all 10 matches and scored a goal during the season.
