Women's Soccer goalkeeper Victoria Broomer and Men's Baseball second baseman Marcus Herback have been named the Huskies athletes of the week for the period ending September 10.
Marcus Herback (1st Year) led the charge for the George Brown Huskies in their opening series of the 2023-24 season against the Fanshawe Falcons in London, ON. The first-year second baseman was stellar in his first games out for the Huskies recording 5 hits, including a double and a triple, to bring home 5 RBIs over the double header. He also crossed the plate four times as well in the two Huskies victories (W 2-1, W 21-11).
Victoria Broomer (2nd Year) stood tall between the posts to help the Huskies secure a point in their opening match of the 2023-24 season against the Centennial Colts on home field on Friday September 8. The OCAA 1st Team All Star made nine saves in the contest, including a strong challenge and a diving effort in the closing minutes to keep the Huskies in it. Broomer allowed only one goal-against in the 1-1 tie.
