For a second straight year, the George Brown Men's Soccer team will be playing in the 2022 OCAA Men's Soccer Championship. The event will be hosted by Humber College at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario from Wednesday October 26 through Saturday October 29, where the program hopes to seek a second consecutive medal.

In the 2021-22 gold medal match, the Huskies dropped that contest to the Humber Hawks by a score of 4-0 to bring home silver. Despite that loss, George Brown made its first ever appearance at the 2021-22 CCAA National Championship as the Wildcard.

This year, the Huskies finished the regular season with 7-2-1 record, tied for second overall in the East division. In their 10 games played, the Huskies scored a total of 29 goals averaging 2.90 goals-per-game with a 16.3 shots-per game average and a .178 shot percentage. They have a goal against average of only 1.04. Most recently, the team is coming off a 2-1 victory against Niagara College in their East/West playoff crossover match.

Huskies head coach John Williams is looking forward to returning to the Provincial Championships. "The Huskies are in deep against the 2nd seed Condors, but I feel like a victory is not out of sight." Williams said. Our team is going to go out there and play our game and apply pressure on Conestoga, to make it as difficult for them as possible."

The Huskies will play the Conestoga College Condors who finished their regular season with a 9-1 record placing second overall in the West division. In the 10 games played, the Condors scored a total of 33 goals averaging 3.30 goals per game, with a 16.7 shots-per game average and hold a .198 shot percentage. They have a goal against average of 1.22. Comparing the goals against average, both teams are evenly matched which should make for an exciting game.

The Condors enter this match after a 1-0 win in their East/West playoff crossover match against the Sault College Cougars.

The quarterfinals match will be played at 3:00 pm on Wednesday October 26. For all championship information and to watch LIVE, visit the 2022 OCAA Men's Soccer Championship Website.
