The Women's Basketball team was edged out 74-65 in overtime against the Georgian Grizzlies on the road Friday (Oct. 18) night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Trailing 15-7 after the opening 10 minutes, the Huskies' offense exploded. Kayana Granger and Jordyn Dawkins combined for 15 of the team's 21 points in the second quarter, heading into the locker room down 29-28.
It remained a back-and-forth battle right down to the wire in the second half. Down three with just three seconds left, Dawkins hit a game-tying three-pointer to force overtime. Unfortunately, Georgian pulled away in OT to win the season opener.
NOTABLE STATS: Dawkins led the team with 21 points, adding 10 rebounds and a steal. Granger filled the stat sheet with 14 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, and a block, shooting 6-of-13 from the field.
Omon Okojie posted a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
UP NEXT: The Huskies (0-1) host their home opener against the Algonquin Wolves (0-0) on Friday (Oct. 25). Game time is scheduled for 6pm.
