The men's soccer team fought hard but fell 2-1 to the St. Lawrence Surge on Friday (Sept. 28) night at home.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Surge struck first, scoring two goals in the span of 12 minutes to go up 2-0 by the 32nd minute. The Huskies responded quickly, cutting the lead in half in the 38th minute off a goal by Gianfranco Gileppo, his second goal in two matches. The score remained 2-1 at halftime.
George Brown continued to push for an equalizer in the second half, recording 14 shots and five corner kicks, but couldn't find the back of the net.
NEXT UP: The Huskies (0-2-3) head on the road for a matchup against the Fleming Phoenix (0-6) on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is at 3:15 p.m.
