HUSKIES GRAB FIRST POINT WITH A DRAW

The George Brown Huskies men's soccer team secured a 2-2 tie against the Seneca Sting on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 11), thanks to a dramatic late goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Seneca struck first, scoring off a corner kick in the 16th minute. The Huskies responded. After controlling possession most of the time after the opening goal, George Brown was awarded a penalty kick, and Mark Do Coito evened up the score in the 33rd minute. Once again, the Sting retook the lead in the 37th minute.

The score remained unchanged until the 86th minute when first-year winger Emmanuel Rady produced a moment of magic. Controlling the ball outside the box, Rady lofted a perfect shot over the Sting goalkeeper, securing the draw

NEXT UP: The Huskies (1-0-1) head north to Sudbury, Ont., to the Cambrian Golden Shield (1-1) on Friday night. All the action starts at 8pm.
