THREE HUSKIES WIN OCAA HONOURS

THREE HUSKIES WIN OCAA HONOURS

Following an impressive season, head coach Omari Wiltshire, Jordyn Dawkins, and Adrienne Williamson have been recognized with OCAA honours.

Wiltshire has been named the OCAA East Division Coach of the Year for the first time. Under his leadership, the Huskies significantly improved their record from 3-11 last year to 8-6 this season, securing a third-place finish in the East Division. George Brown ranked in the top seven in the OCAA in points per game, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, opponents' field goal percentage and opponents' three-point percentage. The team went on to host and win a playoff game for the first time since 2020.

It's the first time George Brown has won this award since 2018.

Dawkins was the perfect spark plug off the bench, so much so she was named East Division Sixth Woman of the Year. She provided exceptional leadership and offence to the second unit, averaging 7.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and just under a steal per game. Dawkins reached double digits in points in five games this season, including in consecutive road games during the season's final weekend, which secured a home playoff game. This is the second time that Dawkins has received OCAA honours, having previously been named an East Division Second Team All-Star and a member of the East Division All-Rookie team in 2023.

Williamson made her presence felt in the OCAA as she was named to the East Division All-Rookie Team. Demonstrating a blend of speed and assertiveness, the first-year guard averaged 7.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. From day one, she played a massive role, and it showed on the court, ranking second on the team in points, rebounds and steals. Her impactful play was instrumental in elevating the team to one of the best in the East Division.
