HUSKIES BATTLE BACK FOR WIN

HUSKIES BATTLE BACK FOR WIN

The Huskies dug themselves out of a 15-point deficit to take down the Loyalist Lancers 88-80 on the road Friday (Feb. 2) night.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Both team's offence went shot-for-shot in the first half as the score stood at 43-42 for Loyalist heading into the locker room.

The Lancers offence didn't slow down in the third. They began the quarter on a 17-2 run to lead by 15. That didn't deter the Huskies.

The fourth quarter was all about Jordyn Dawkins. The second-year guard posted 11 of the team's 26 points in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.

NOTABLE STATS: Third-year guard Jaycelyn Valencia was lights out off the bench. She was 4-of-7 from deep for a career-high 18 points. Dawkins filled up the stats sheet with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Third-year forward Kayana Granger posted 10 points, a game-high five steals, four rebounds, and two assists in the victory.

George Brown brings their record back to .500 at 6-6. That puts them in third place in the East Division with two games remaining.

UP NEXT: The Huskies wrap up their road on Saturday afternoon against the St. Lawrence Surge. All the action begins at 1pm.
