Monique Lee & Sarthak Arora capped off their impressive season by earning a silver medal in Mixed Doubles at the CCAA National Badminton Championships at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.
The finals on the national stage was a back-and-forth affair against Bryce Mason and Anna Gillies of the UKC Blue Devils. The match went the distances taking 50 minutes, but the Huskies just fell short, dropping 2-1 (21-14, 18-21, 13-21) decision. The pair's performance, though helped the OCAA win team supremacy gold over the other conferences.
The team that won the gold medal at the OCAA Provincial Championship didn't miss a beat during round-robin play. They went undefeated and finished first in the pool, going 5-0. The pair rolled through Jonathan Su and Jesleen Kaur of the Concordia Thunder, 2-0 (21-10, 21-10) in the semi-finals to book their ticket to the final.
This marks the fifth straight season that the badminton program has brought home a national medal.
