STIRLING JOINS WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

STIRLING JOINS WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

The George Brown Huskies women's volleyball team adds another recruit for the 2025-2026 season in Elorie Stirling.

“This year the Huskies program is looking to again make history with an extremely talented and dedicated team. Elorie going to be a key piece of this program.  Her experience having competed with some of the very best athletes, including teammates she's suited up with for Volleyball Canada Senior Nationals helps Elorie bring a level of maturity and strength to the team that we've not seen before,” head coach Daphne Choi explained

The 6’1 middle has an impressive resume. Recently, she was part of a team that won gold at the 2023 Canadian Open National Championship. In 2022, she also placed fourth in the bronze medal bracket at the US National Championship with a different squad. Additionally, Stirling played three seasons with the University of Western’s junior varsity team.

“My initial reaction was excitement as I am really looking forward to my program and playing volleyball,” she explained. “I chose George Brown College because I was looking for a school close to home that has great post-graduate programs that can help me propel my career. I also wanted a school with a strong athletic program.”

Choi believes Stirling’s talents on the court will have a major impact in the OCAA.

"Elorie is a huge presence at the net.  She has a fast natural athleticism and fast arm swing, but more than anything she has an ability to find opportunities to score, and this will translate directly into the Huskies playing the best volleyball we've ever seen,” said Choi. "On a more personal note, Elorie is an easy choice for a teammate - she easily mixed in with our group and is hungry for feedback to improve her game.  I'm so excited for this opportunity to work with Elorie."

Stirling will enroll in the Human Resources Management program and has clear goals in mind for her time at George Brown College.

“On the court I hope to grow and develop my skills while building strong relationships with my team and coaches. In the classroom I hope to expand my skills and knowledge base to help me further develop my career,” Stirling stated.
