TIME TO CELEBRATE ATHLETIC SUCCESS AT GEORGE BROWN

TIME TO CELEBRATE ATHLETIC SUCCESS AT GEORGE BROWN

It's time for a celebration.

And that's exactly what is being put together for the 45

In a fitting climax to a superb season of varsity sports competition, one that included stunning individual performances, all-star recognitions, thrilling action and student athletes just doing their best, a guest list of 300 people will indulge in an enjoyable recollection of the year that was for the George Brown Huskies.

"It will be an evening of fun, excitement and some great memories," said Ed Mark, Manager of Athletics and Recreation. "I think it's absolutely wonderful that so many people will be in attendance to share, commemorate and pay tribute to the special achievements of our varsity athletes."

And the evening will include congratulatory remarks from George Brown President Anne Sado along with a special guest list of dignitaries, corporate sponsors and senior staff, honouring the athletes, coaches, managers and trainers.

Perdita Feclicien, Canada's golden girl of the hurdles – a World champ, an Olympic competitor, a Pan Am Games medallist – will share her thoughts about the values and importance of being an athlete in the spotlight.

The Honorable Bal Gosal, Canada's Minister of State Responsible for Sport, will pay tribute to students athletes who have combined the stiff challenges of academic excellence with the responsibilities and commitment to sport.

The Honorable Michael Chan, Ontario's

George Brown graduate Amy Williams, just back from Sochi and responsible for developing and strengthening the Canadian Olympic team brand in her home country, will also remind George Brown students that determination and hard work can lead to a dream profession.

The celebration of success includes 10 major awards to be handed out, along with sport Most Valuable Player recognitions by teams, an array of special achievements, National and Provincial medals and finishing off with the Female and Male Athletes of the Year. - DG
