The women's soccer team blanked the Loyalist Lancers 3-0 on Friday (Sept. 28) night at home.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies controlled possession for most of the first half. Thanks to their dominance, they earned a free kick about 30 yards from the net. After the initial shot was blocked, Bianca Rea regained possession and sniped top corner, opening the scoring in the 28th minute. Just over eight minutes later, the Huskies earned another opportunity with a penalty kick. Nathalie Finley-Horne made no mistake, doubling the lead. The score remained 2-0 at halftime.
Alyssa Budhoo scored her first goal of the season in the 60th minute, to put the game out of reach for Loyalist.
UP NEXT: The Huskies (2-3) wrap up their weekend with a trip to Peterborough, Ont., to battle the Fleming Phoenix (0-6) on Sunday. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
