The women's soccer team began their season with a 4-0 victory over the Loyalist Lancers on the road Thursday (Sept. 5) night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies didn't take long to open the scoring, with Ashley Macdonald finding the back of the net in the 9th minute. The second-year midfielder struck again with a breakaway goal in the 33rd minute. First-year forward Bianca Rea extended the lead to 3-0 in the 42nd minute, sending the Huskies into halftime with a comfortable lead.
George Brown continues to dominate possession in the second half. Thanks to that, Macdonald completed her first career hat trick in the 75th minute.
Goalkeeper Yazmeen Jamieson earned a shutout, making six saves in her Huskies debut. The team registered 33 shots in total.
UP NEXT: The Huskies face the Algonquin Wolves in their home opener on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 8) at Esther Shiner Stadium. Kickoff is at 1 pm.
