On Saturday November 5, the George Brown women's volleyball team (3-1) won in three straight sets (25-16, 25-16, 25-22) on the road against the Centennial Colts (2-2).
HOW IT HAPPENED: Leading the way offensively for the Huskies were Jaque Ronquillo (1st Year) and Taylor Grant (1st Year) who had a combined 27 points for the Huskies, including 25 kills on 55 attempts. Brianne Lee (1st Year) had an impressive 29 assists in George Brown's victory with only one error. Julia Gordon (1st Year) also had a strong game for the Huskies, adding eight points off of five kills and three serving aces, as well as collecting four digs.
"We're consistently seeing that we set goals for our games and we meet those goals. It was important for us to be able to do that and practice some new things ahead of our road trip in Ottawa.", said head coach Daphne Choi, who is happy to see that the team's approach to game preparation is paying off. "Heading into the game our goal was to start the game off right and we were able to that thanks to a huge serving run by Taylor Grant which helped put us in a good momentum."
UP NEXT: The Huskies continue on the road, heading to Ottawa, ON to take on the Algonquin Wolves (3-2) on Saturday November 12 at 4 pm and the La Cite Coyotes (1-3) on Sunday November 13 at 1 pm.
