In the first game of a season without COVID restrictions, George Brown travelled to Niagara College for a friendly tuneup match ahead of the regular season.

In a historic first, the Women defeated the Niagara Knights in five sets (25-22, 25-21, 25-27, 20-25, 15-10) by a score of 3-2. The team started out strong taking the first two sets decisively, 25-22 and 25-21, but allowed Niagara to build momentum in tight third and fourth sets which they won 25-27 and 20-25. In the fifth and deciding set, the Huskies stepped on the floor with a renewed vibe and after being the first to make it to 8 points, quickly finished the match with a 15-10 score to end the match.

Head Coach Daphne Choi (6th Season) had only positive comments for her athletes. "I'm proud to say that everyone saw the court, and everyone played a part in today's win. We've been working really hard on building our foundations and we went into today's game with intention to use it as a learning experience. We did that and we also got the win out of it."

Both Women's and Men's teams will be back in action on Saturday October 1st as they continue exhibition play against the Seneca Sting at 1PM and 3PM on the road.
