HUSKIES FINISH SEASON WITH SPLIT

HUSKIES FINISH SEASON WITH SPLIT

The Men's Baseball team wrapped up their regular season with a split against the Centennial Colts on the road Friday (Oct. 11) night.

Game 1: George Brown 10, Centennial 20
The Huskies offence started things by driving in three runs in the opening inning, but the lead didn't last long. The Colts scored six runs in the first two innings, taking a 6-3 advantage heading into the third, and they didn't look back.

First-year Connor Gentes led the Huskies with a home run, three RBIs, and three runs. First-year pitcher Ethan Robertson took the loss, allowing eight runs on seven hits and three walks over three innings.

Game 2: George Brown 7, Centennial 3
After the loss in Game 1, the Huskies needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, George Brown's bats came alive, producing five runs in the inning. That was all the starter Finlay Butler needed. The third-year pitcher threw his second complete game of the season, allowing just three runs on seven hits and seven walks while striking out a season-high seven batters.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (7-11) now wait for the results from Seneca and Fanshawe over the next few days to determine if they qualify for the OCAA Championship in Sarnia, Ont., next week.
